It’s All About Apps (Part 3)

Can you believe there are still more apps to talk about that are available to access WPPL’s downloadables and research resources?  Well, The Media Maven has another list of apps of which you should take note.

Ohio Means Jobs

The Ohio Means Jobs app is a great addition to your resources if you are searching for a job, assessing your skills, and posting your resume.  It can also be helpful if you are an employer and want to post jobs or access countless resumes.

Ohio Means Jobs is available in both Apple and Android format.  To download for Apple go to and for Android go to

Reference USA

Reference USA is a very useful tool, and the iPad app will let you have instant access to business and residential directories.  You may require your library card to log in, as you would on a web browser outside the library.

To download Reference USA on your Apple iPad, go to

OverDrive Media Console

For anyone who wishes to download library eBooks and eAudiobooks, the OverDrive Media Console app is the right thing for you!  Though you won’t necessarily want to read Adobe ePub books on your Kindle Fire, the app is a little faster to navigate rather than going to our OverDrive webpage.  And you can keep track of multiple libraries in it, which makes it even more valuable if you are a voracious eBook reader.

If you are on the go and want to check your WPPL account, it has never been easier.  SirsiDynix has an app that works for all libraries that use it called BookMyne.  So not only can you keep track of your Porter account, you can also keep track of other library accounts that use Sirsi.  You can easily renew non-Search Ohio items and review your checked-out items and holds.

BookMyne is available in both Apple and Android format.  To download BookMyne for Apple devices go to and for Android devices go to

And that’s it for apps associated with WPPL, but the Media Maven will be sharing other cool, free, and educational apps in the future!
