Love winter sports? I thought I could grow to love them a few years back and hit the slopes a few times. At first I thought snowboarding would be so fun and "cool" because my son made it look like a piece of cake.
Two visits and a bruised tailbone later, I decided downhill skiing was a somewhat safer bet--at least you have a few seconds of warning before you wipe out! And did I ever wipe out, regularly and often, LOL! But I did stick it out for a few years before deciding that what I really enjoy most about winter is snuggling under a warm blankie with a good book.
And what a treat we've got today! Babymouse is back with her seventeenth adventure and this time--you guessed it--she's hitting the slopes in Extreme Babymouse.
As I've said before, Babymouse is a girl after my own heart, and in this new adventure she does not disappoint. I can totally relate to her difficulties maneuvering a snowboard, especially when she does her first face-plant on page 36. I was SO there, and the Holm sibs hit it right on the head--one minute you're standing, and the next second you're down with zero warning!
For any of you snowboard-school dropouts (like me!) this is a hilarious look back at a time of great foolishness in life. Don't miss it!
Until Next Time--
