During the 19th century, wealthy Clevelanders polished their cultural credentials by taking a grand tour of Europe where they explored art galleries, castles, museums, and spectacular natural landscapes. These tours left lasting impressions (both good and bad) on those who traveled, and in several cases ended up changing the cultural landscape of our community. This illustrated talk follows the Wades, Adella Prentiss Hughes and other Clevelanders on their journeys abroad.
