Music Musings's blog
Happy December, everyone! Finally, it's reached that time of year when we can justify lots of snow and cold weather. Not that I'm happy about it, though. The only thing I like about winter is an excuse to stay inside in my lounge clothes, reading a book and drinking hot chocolate. I don't do well with the cold.
When I'm looking for a new CD, a lot of times, I go with bands that have cool cover-art or unusual names. Does this qualify as judging a book by it's cover? Certainly. But, it also means that I find a lot of interesting music. In fact, that's how I found our first Artist of the Week.
Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you're having a nice start to your week! As for me, I'm doing very well, and I have a treat to share with all of you. Coming up on December 3rd, we have Dr. Joel Keller of Baldwin-Wallace University coming in to talk to us all about the History of Rock and Roll (from 1949-1964). Learn all about Rock and Roll's Historical and Cultural Significance, the many types of Rock and Roll, enjoy the greatest hits and top tens from each year, and more!
So, what are you listening to? What music is playing in your car, on your iPod, computer, or smart phone? A tried and true favorite? Or something completely new? I'm between albums right now, and am looking for something new and different. I've recently been jamming to Alice Cooper's Welcome 2 My Nightmare while I do my homework and The Newsboys' Restart during my commute, but I'm ready for a change.
I just want to start by saying how excited I am to be starting this blog and sharing my love of music with all of you! I think we're going to have a lot of fun things to talk about.
Just to clear up some confusion; this is the same Music Musings on Monday blog that some of you are familiar with. The difference is that I'm not the same writer. When the original Music Muse left the library, I was asked to take over. And I'm hopeful that you'll enjoy my posts as much as you enjoyed hers.
I was just looking over my latest order and thought you might want to put a few on hold! Here's a bunch of soundtracks I ordered (you can click on the links to put it on hold) along with a few others that should be great:
Looking for a couple new CDs? These CDs have some great new songs on them!
Looking at Billboard tonight, I came across the Top Holiday 100 and noticed that the first fourteen songs were older songs!
