What's Linux? (It's easier than Windows!)
You've heard of computers running Windows or Mac OS X, but Linux is another operating system that your computer can run (for free!) It's easier than you may think. (Unlike Windows, you don't really have to worry about viruses, either!)
Come try Linux Mint Cinnamon out on our computers on Tuesday, April 7 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in the Computer Lab to see if it's something you might like! Register online or call 440-871-2600.
The Westlake Porter Public Library now has an iPad filled with special needs apps. Parents and Educators can test drive apps to decide if they want to buy them. We have apps for communication such as Proloquo2Go as well as apps for helping children with learning disabilities including writing, reading and math apps. We even have apps that help build social skills and design sensory breaks.
To see the iPad, visit the Youth Services desk at WPPL. You can use it in one of our study rooms and even have your child "try it out."
Westlake Porter Public Library is delighted to offer you Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) non-fiction eBooks available online. In the past you could always count on the library having plenty of federal tax forms and booklets available during the height of tax season. We are part of the IRS’ Library Program, which provides the forms and booklets to libraries across the nation. Boxes from the IRS usually begin arriving in late December, and we put them out for you right after New Year’s Day.
