What would you do with super-intelligence?

In Wired by Douglas E. Richards, Kira Miller is a brilliant genetic engineer who discovers how to temporarily enhance brain functioning a thousand-fold. An unfortunate side-effect happens to be ruthless megalomania and a complete disregard for human emotions.

So what does a person do with this increased intellect? Even though one may intend to create things that are beneficial to all mankind, once enhanced, the needs of others become secondary. Why not just make yourself rich and powerful instead?

David Desh, formerly in Special Forces, is asked by his former Colonel to find Kira and bring her to justice for a number of crimes including colluding with terrorists on bio-weapons and possibly even murder. To help him he hires Matt, a top notch computer hacker. Before Desh and Matt can get to far, Kira kidnaps him to try to convince him she is innocent and that there is a conspiracy in place to get to discredit her and steal her discoveries. She seems sincere, but sociopaths are know to be good at lying...

Wired is a smart sci-fi thriller crammed with non-stop action, unexpected twists, mind-bending science, and intriguing concepts readers will be contemplating long after they've read the last page.

The story continues with the sequel, Amped, which includes possible alien contact!!
