William Peter Blatty (1928-2017)

It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of author William Peter Blatty, who passed away on Thursday at age 89, after a battle with cancer.  His name might not be familiar to all of you, but certainly his works will be.  Blatty was a prolific author in the horror genre, although he's best known for his story of a 12-year old girl possessed by a demon: The Exorcist.  This chilling tale is not only Blatty's most famous work, but won him an Academy Award for Best Screenplay, and the film was the first horror movie nominated for Best Picture.
