This quilt is on display in the Quiet Reading Room
Westlake Porter Public Library.

About the Quilters:

The Northcoast Needlers Guild members made the quilt to commemorate Westlake's 175th anniversary.

As an added touch, they incorporated small squares into the border bearing contributors' signatures.  Each $5 contribution was donated toward a stone memorial bridge over a stream in Clague Park.

The quilters used patterns created from original photographs of Dover Township transferred onto graph paper, then colorfully appliquéed.

The Northcoast Needlers Guild began meeting at Porter Library in September 1985.  They previously met at the "Hoops and Hollers Quilt Shoppe."

Their motto: "May our guild continue to encourage creativity, share learning and skills, and provide service projects, all to promote and preserve quilting, our loved art and craft. But more importantly, may Northcoast Needlers continue to promote and preserve the fellowship that we share."
