Adult Services specialist and avid reader Laura Ploenzke will discuss the main features of each site and show you how to take your reading experience to a fun, interactive level.

Near Death Experience with Hypnotherapist Susan Fox, May 14, 7pm

Susan will share her own near death experience and talk about the nature of near death experience in general. Learn how thoughts, feelings, and the vibrations you exude effect the nature of that experience. Ask questions and relate your own experiences. The program will also include some practical exercises.

Open Technology Training Lab: Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays in May

Are you curious about Windows 8? Do you need some time to work with Adobe Photoshop Elements? Maybe you have a question about an Excel formula or a Word table. You don't have to sign up for a class.

Come to the Westlake Porter Public Library Computer Lab. The computers in the lab offer Windows 8.1, Office 2013 and Adobe Photoshop Elements. There is staff on duty to answer questions at this times as well!

Registration is not required.  You can see a list of open lab times on our event calendar  and also check out more info about our Technology Training resources, including the classes we offer.

Test Drive Special Needs Apps

Photo of WPPL's iPad loaded with special needs appsThe Westlake Porter Public Library now has an iPad filled with special needs apps. Parents and Educators can test drive apps to decide if they want to buy them. We have apps for communication such as Proloquo2Go as well as apps for helping children with learning disabilities including writing, reading and math apps. We even have apps that help build social skills and design sensory breaks.

To see the iPad, visit the Youth Services desk at WPPL. You can use it in one of our study rooms and even have your child "try it out."
