The Ice Cream Social, sponsored by the Friends of Westlake Porter Public Library, is Monday, July 30th 2012 from 6-8pm! Check out what is going on that night!

• Portables Gift Shop, completely run by Friends volunteers, will be open
• The Book Nook Used Book Room, completely run by Friends volunteers, will have special half-price sales from 10am to 8pm.
• There will be a 50 cent Cakewalk for kids - try to win a cake or giant cookie!
• A silent auction, including 4 Walt Disney World Park Hopper passes (valued at $500), will end at 8:00 P.M.

Cathy Schultz has received the 2012 Myrna Chelko Volunteer Award from Westlake Porter Public Library. The award was announced at the annual Volunteer Award Recognition reception on Sunday, March 4. It is named for the late Myrna Chelko, and is given to the volunteer who epitomizes the spirit of volunteerism as demonstrated by Chelko during her years as a library volunteer.

            Schultz was selected as this year’s recipient in recognition of her years as a Friends of Porter Public Library Board member, the number of volunteer responsibilities she has taken on over the years, and her dedication and enthusiasm.

The Friends won an award from the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations!
