Money Smart Week: April 18-25

Money Smart Week April 18-25 @ your library

Money Smart Week is a public awareness campaign created by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2002.  It is desinged to help consumers better manage their personal finances and improve their financial literacy. 

Westlake Porter Public Library will be hosting financial awareness programs from April 18-25.

Test Drive Special Needs Apps

Photo of WPPL's iPad loaded with special needs appsThe Westlake Porter Public Library now has an iPad filled with special needs apps. Parents and Educators can test drive apps to decide if they want to buy them. We have apps for communication such as Proloquo2Go as well as apps for helping children with learning disabilities including writing, reading and math apps. We even have apps that help build social skills and design sensory breaks.

To see the iPad, visit the Youth Services desk at WPPL. You can use it in one of our study rooms and even have your child "try it out."

Primary Election, May 5

The May 5th Primary Election will include a proposed tax levy for Westlake City School District.

To avoid lines on Election Day, and to allow extra time to study the ballot, all registered voters may Vote by Mail. Vote by Mail ballot applications are available at the Board of Elections website, by calling the Board of Elections at 216-443-VOTE (8683), and at all public libraries.

The Westlake Porter Public Library is soliciting proposals for an operator to manage a Public Café Concession, to be located in this space.
