INFORMATION ABOUT SERVICE HOURS:

Unfortunately, all our volunteer spots at the library are full for the current school year!  Therefore, we are no longer taking teen volunteers!

However, we will soon be accepting new volunteers for the summer months.  Applications for summer volunteer opportunities will be available beginning May 1, 2013 at the Youth Services desk.  Completed applications are due by Monday, June 3, 2013.

All volunteers wishing to participate in our Summer Volunteer program are required to attend the Orientation on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 7:00 pm.  

Please contact the Youth Services department of the library at 440-250-5471 if you have any further questions.

Registration for teen programs typically begins one week prior to the event.  For more information or to register, check out our CALENDAR OF EVENTS

All Teen programs are for grades 6-12 unless noted otherwise!

 

QR CODE SCAVENGER HUNT

Monday, March 4th - Friday, March 8th

Youth Services Area

During Teen Tech Week, we're challenging teens to find and scan all the QR codes scattered around the library by solving clues that will lead you to the final prize!  You can work individually or in teams of up to four people.  Stop by the Youth Services Desk to get started. No registration required!

*A smart phone/tablet with a barcode scanner is needed to complete the hunt.

 

MARCH MADNESS

All during the month of March!

Young Adult Area

Each week during the month of March, we'll be pitting the best books of the past year against each other to determine which is the best!  Stop by the YA area each week to vote on that round's books and make sure that your favorites make it to the top!

 

TEEN LOUNGE

Every Monday (except when Westlake Schools have a day off) @ 4-6pm

Need a place to hang out after school? Drop by our Teen Lounge on Monday afternoons! We've got computers, video games, board games, snacks, and more!  No registration required!

 

MAD 4 MANGA

Do you love Manga, Anime, or Japanese culture?  If you do, this club is for you!  Each month we watch a different Anime series, talk about our favorite Manga.  Sometimes we even throw in some crafts, Manga drawing, or Japanese treats just for fun!  No registration required!

There are so many fun things to make with duct tape!  This time around we're going to transform this bright and colorful tape into flower pins, barrettes, and pencils!

TEEN MOVIE: PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER

Friday, April 5th @ 3-4:45pm

Porter Meeting Room

Drop in for snacks and to see Perks of Being a Wallflower.  The movie based on the novel written by Stephen Chbosky, this is about 15-year-old Charlie coping with first love, the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness while struggling to find a group of people with whom he belongs.  No registration required!

*Movie is rated PG-13 due to drugs, some violence, and sexual situations!
