Greetings EDGE readers:
Thanks to Linda Street and to all of you who attended our first small group discussion on September 29. This was the first program off this type I've tried and despite my inability to make a decent pot of coffee, I think it turned out pretty well. The discussion was deep, and personally relevant to the participants. All of your comments on the evaluation sheets were very positive,
Greetings EDGE readers:
Greetings Edge Readers!
We’re trying something new.
On Sunday, October 5, between 2 and 3:30 pm, we will be having Tom Wertman of MUFON Ohio and The Cleveland Ufology Project back for a small group discussion. I know it’s hard to shout your story and ask your questions across a big room of a hundred or so people, which is the situation at our large group programs. So, we’re going to bring back speakers who have done big programs for us and we’re going to give you the opportunity to interact with them in a more personal way.
It should be very interesting: in my last communication with Tom, he told me he’s been working on some interesting cases, involving abductions and residue left on cloth as a result of abductions; they’re looking for similarities in what they find at different sites. He’s also involved in some investigations of metals of unusual composition found at UFO sites.
We’ll ask him about these things, but there’s no agenda, except that we will be discussing UFOs, and alien life. Outside of this broad paradigm, we can go anywhere with the discussion. We can talk about sightings of UFOs, about alien visitations, about abductions, about government cover-ups. What do aliens want? Where are they coming from? Does any of it involve time travel? Some kind of interdimensional travel? Have they been interacting with us for a long time? for decades, centuries, millennia or more? Were they here before us? Are any of them native to this planet? The scope of related topics is immense.
I think we’ll have an illuminating discussion.
The size of this group will be limited to 25 and no unregistered individuals will be admitted. Once we have 25 people registered we’re going to close the registration and start putting names on a waiting list. People on the waiting list will have first crack at a second meeting we’ll schedule for later this year, probably in November. So, if you call to register or go online to register and find that you’re being put on a waiting list… don’t despair…you’ll get your chance.
I’m anxious to make this work. I think we can have meetings like this on a regular or semi-regular basis.
To register, call 440-250-5460; ask at a public service desk, or online at www.westlakelibrary.org.
I’ll be back with more information when I can fit it in, we’ve been very busy around here, so remember to Keep your eye on THE EDGE!
Coffee with Linda: Join Us Monday, Sept 29, 2014 for a small group discussion with Spritual Intuitive Linda Street
Greetings Again EDGE readers!
Linda Street, local author, Reiki master, energy therapist, and spiritual intuitive returns for a small group discussion, Monday, September 29, 7-8:30 pm. This will be a gathering of no more than 25, in which you'll be able to ask questions and relate personal experiences in a friendly, intimate atmosphere. Get Linda's reaction and input to your personal situation.
You won’t have to wave your hand or shout to get somebody’s attention from across a crowded room; we’ll meet around a table over coffee and tea. . . and talk. I’ll put my two cents in where I can, and I’ll also have some reading recommendations.
I’m excited about this idea and hope that it becomes a regular monthly event.
Register by calling 440-250-5460, ask at any public service desk, or online at www.westlakelibrary.org.
Thanks to Tom Wertman; last Wednesday's program was spectacular. And thanks to all of you who attended....
Mark your calendars--Tom will be returning for a small group discussion on Sunday, October 5. We mentioned it briefly during the program. This will be your chance to sit around a table with Tom and a small number of others who have had experiences with UFOs or aliens, or both. . . and really talk, in depth; to ask your questions and get his take on what you've seen, what you've heard, and what's happened to you.
I'll be putting together the advertising for this event shortly and registration will begin September 5. There'll be signs and flyers in the library and more information in this blog. . .so be sure to watch here. . . .
Attendance for this event will be limited to THE FIRST 25 who register. HOWEVER. . . we will continue to take names on a waiting list and work with Tom to schedule additional sessions, so all of you who want to attend this kind of meeting will have an opportunity to.
Just a reminder, I still have bibliography booklets from the program. You'll find them in the plastic holders on the end cap near the Psychology and Philosophy collection (Dewey area 100s). They'll be there until they're gone.
That's all for now.
Back soon with more info on programs and materials....
Greeting EDGE Readers.
With the date of our program on UFOs and Government Cover-ups fast approaching, I thought I’d update you on some of our speaker's recent activities.
If you're regular readers, I know you know I'm referring to Tom Wertman of MUFON Ohio and The Cleveland Ufology Project.
In my last communication with Tom, he let me know that he's expanded his field of operations.
In the past he's been primarily involved with investigations in the U.S., and most of these in Ohio as part of his responsibilities as Chief Field Investigator for MUFON Ohio.
However, in the last year he’s investigated reports in Canada, the U.K. and Puerto Rico. U.K. investigations for 2013 number almost 70 and the Canadian investigations, almost 40, so he's been very busy.
He's also indicated he's employing some new techniques and was recognized at the MUFON International Symposium for his investigative work. I'm sure he'll tell us more about all this on Wednesday.
In a quick search of the internet, I've found that he's been making the library circuit in Ohio, with presentations like the ones he does for us here at WPPL. He's scheduled to speak at the MUFON Conference in Erie, PA, in May of next year.
Regular meetings of The Cleveland Ufology Project are held monthly at Cuyahoga Community College Western Campus, 11000 Pleasant Valley Road, Parma, Ohio 44130. The Room number is 225 located on the second floor of the Technology Learning Center. Meetings are at 7:30pm on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
Admission is $5 for non-members, $7 for non-members when guest speakers are featured. Individual memberships are available at a cost of $30 per year; ($20 per year for students). If you have questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
MUFON Ohio meetings are held at locations in central Ohio: check out their website for more info at www.mufonohio.com.
I'll be posting again soon with more info about our speaker and our program. Hope to see you there; remember to register by calling 440-250-5460, asking at a public service desk, or here, by clicking this link.
Greetings EDGE readers!
As promised in my last post, here is more information about our upcoming program on UFOs.
Tom Wertman, Chief Field Investigator for MUFON Ohio and Co-Director of The Cleveland Ufology Project returns for the third in our series on UFOs. This year's presentation will deal with the topic of Government Coverups of UFO Sightings and other UFO related activity.
Learn what measures the government takes to keep the public unaware of this activity. Tom will be focusing on coverups of UFO sightings, etc. in Ohio.
The program is Wednesday evening, August 6, in our Porter Room. The doors will open at 6:30 pm; the presentation begins at 7:00, and we should wrap up around 8:30.
Tom is always interested in addressing your concerns, so come prepared to share your own experiences in a substantial audience participation segment at the end.
To register, call 440-250-5460, ask at a public service desk, or use our online event calendar.
I'll be back with more info in the next few days.
Greetings EDGE Readers!
It's been Rush, Rush, Rush around here since our last program, so this is my first chance to blog about Linda's presentation, The Rays of Light on June 12. Thanks to all of you who attended. I've got your evaluation sheets and will be taking all of your suggestions to heart. If you didn't have a chance to fill out an evaluation, I welcome your input, you can email me at Ilona.Miklos@westlakelibrary.org, or drop off something in person at one of our public service desks. You don’t need to use the form, just write your thoughts down and turn them in. It will get to me.
Linda did a wonderful job, as usual, and we're very grateful that she agrees to come back periodically and take us ever a little further into the topic of Energy Healing. I'm a novice on the subject, so I appreciate her gentle guidance and I hope you do, too.
Remember, the library owns three copies of her new book, Rays of Light: listen to the dark, which, when not checked out, will be along with other new books in our Reading Room across from the Circulation Desk.
There are still some copies of the bibliography I prepared for the program in the plastic holders on the end cap near the books on philosophy, psychology, and religion. Ask a staff member where that is if you're unsure. They'll be there until they're gone.
I plan to do a display on channeled texts as soon as I get a chance, but that will probably not be until later this year, because now I'm moving on to the next big thing, our UFO program on August 6.
Keep your eye on the EDGE for updates on that.
In my last post, I mentioned that Linda Street’s new book is a “channeled text”. What does that mean?
Greetings Edge Readers:
I’m back again, as promised, with more information on our speaker for this Thursday’s program,
The Rays of Light—Linda Street.
Linda’s educational background includes a BA in Psychology and a MA in Public Administration. She has years of work experience in both the Mental Health field and in Human Resources and currently runs her own business, Healing From Your Heart, right here in Westlake, where she practices in-person and distance energy healing.
She’s a Third Degree Reiki Master and certified in numerous other energy therapies, including IET (Integrated Energy Therapy), Diamond Light Therapy, and ARCH (Ancient Rainbow Conscious Healing). She is a member of the Cleveland Chapter of the International Coach Federation.
The Rays of Light is a healing therapy channeled from higher consciousness through Linda, which she, alone, practices and which is the subject of her new book of the same name. This is the therapy Linda will be discussing on Thursday, along with the process by which it was written.
Linda is a frequent speaker at venues around Ohio and in near-by states. In fact, this will be her third appearance here. In 2012, she presented a program entitled, Healing From Your Heart, and in 2013, she presented Energy Therapy and Chakra Cleansing.
