Crystal Walker received the Myrna Chelko Volunteer Award at the library's Volunteer Appreciation Reception on May 28, 2025. The award is given annually to the volunteer who best demonstrates the spirit of volunteerism exemplified by its namesake, Myrna Chelko.

The Ohio Department of Health is discontinuing the program which, since early 2022, provided free COVID-19 test kits to public libraries. WPPL is currently distributing our last shipment of kits, after that the library will no longer have free COVID-19 test kits.
The Westlake Porter Public Library offers test proctoring free of charge during the hours the library is open. Computers are available for online-based tests and individual study rooms are available for paper tests.
Contact Adult Services with your name, contact information, and desired testing date and time. Scheduling is based upon staff availability. Please allow enough time for correspondence with your institution to receive testing materials and instructions.
