Effective January 22, 2021, WPPL will be open for browsing in addition to offering drive-up window services, telephone services, online programming and limited computer access.

  • Face coverings for ages 2 and up and other temporary policies remain in effect.
  • Computer use is by appointment. Call (440) 871-2600 to schedule an appointment.
  • The drive-up window on the south side of the building is OPEN regular library hours.
  • Check the Event Calendar for news about virtual programs.

  • Computer use is by appointment only.  
Temporary Public Service Policies
  • All staff and patrons over the age of two are required to wear a face covering while in the building. Those that cannot wear a face covering can be served through our telephone reference and drive-up window services. 
  • The first hour of the day, 9-10 am Monday through Saturday, is set aside for older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions. 
  • Children ages 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  
  • Food and drink are not allowed in the library. 
  • There is a limit of 50 patrons in the building at any one time. 
  • Tables and chairs have been removed due to the difficulty of ensuring they can be properly sanitized between uses.

Computer Classes

Westlake Porter Public Library offers many different classes to help you get started using a computer. There is no charge to participate but registration is required.

A variety of databases is available for use in the library, both in the electronic services area and in the youth services area. No registration is required and there is no charge (except for printing which has a cost per page). Please check our Research Databases and Subscriptions page for a list of available databases.


Computer Usage

Computers are available for the purposes of using the Internet and Microsoft Office applications. Common Microsoft Office applications available on PC Stations include: Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, and PowerPoint. Computer stations also provide web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer. You may bring a blank CD or USB drive to save your work.

USB ports, for the use of personal USB drive devices, are available on all computers. Installing software is not permitted. For further information, see the Public Internet Access and Computer Use Policy.

Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis for a one-hour session. More time is available depending upon demand. Printing is 10¢ per page for black toner only, and 15¢ per page for color printing. Customers are given a daily allowance of $1.00 to use for printing only.


Wi-Fi Available Here

Free high-speed wireless Internet access is available to visitors who bring their own Wi-Fi configured devices. Our acceptable use policy applies to all persons accessing our network even when they are using their own equipment. Ask for policy details.
