Lynn Pettyjohn of the Friends shows a young patron a page from the StoryWalkWestlake Porter Public Library and the City of Westlake have partnered to provide a StoryWalk in the Westlake Recreation Center Park, located along the walking path near the playground.

A StoryWalk is an interactive way for young readers and their caregivers to enjoy reading and nature at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s picture book are displayed on special posts along one of the park's paths. As you stroll down the path you are directed toward the next page of the story.

A joint project between the Library and the City, Westlake's StoryWalk is funded by the Friends of Porter Public Library and memorial donations in honor of Sandra Sauer, former library employee and member of the Friends.
