Adult Services Makerspace Associate – 24 hours

Brief Job Description

Under the supervision of the Adult Services Assistant Manager, instructs and assists library patrons in the use of makerspace equipment and software such as sound recording gear, 3D printers, vinyl and craft cutters, CNC machines, laser engravers, sewing machines, heat press, etc. Plans programs and offers one-on-one and small group instruction to a variety of ages including youth and adults. Responsible for providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a Makerspace or other creative space environment and/or knowledge of Makerspace equipment/software
  • Strong computer and technology skills
  • Ability to work with the public
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, or experience working in a Makerspace or with Makerspace equipment required
  • Library experience preferred

Hours

24 hours per week. Daytime, evening and weekend hours required as needed.

Job Classification

Associate, Salary Grade 300, Range - $13.80 to $19.48, Non-Exempt

Qualifications

High school degree required. Professional cleaning experience preferred.

Brief Job Description

Familiarity with all aspects of custodial work. Primary duties involve cleaning and general upkeep of the building and grounds. Sets up, takes down and otherwise arranges meeting rooms for classes, meetings and special events. Ability to work effectively and communicate with a wide variety of coworkers and members of the general public. Ability to work with the Windows-based operating system, e-mail and library software programs.

Hours

20 hours per week. Schedule includes hours outside the library’s open hours. Daytime, evening and weekend hours required.

Position Classification

Salary Grade 220, Non-exempt, pay rate - $12.56 - $16.00 / hour; includes paid vacation, sick leave and retirement through the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS)
