The new Storywalk at the Westlake Recreation Center will open with VIP readers stationed along the path to read parts of the story to walkers. Come enjoy this new attraction!
“The Storywalk promotes early literacy, exercise and community engagement,” said Library Director Andrew Mangels. “We believe this will be an extremely popular attraction for our citizens.”
Scheduled to attend are Mayor Dennis Clough, who will open with brief remarks, and Library Director Andrew Mangels, State Representative Dave Greenspan, County Council Representative Nan Baker, Library Board President Elizabeth Sheehe, some members of Westlake City Council, and several more who will read the story. Refreshments will also be served.
The Storywalk is a joint project between the Library and the City and was funded by the Party @ Porter fundraiser held by the Friends of Porter Public Library this March. It is located along the walking path near the playground at the Recreation Center at 28955 Hilliard Boulevard.
