Celebrate Dot Day with special storytime on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter! Pick Up the Dot Day Craft Kit starting SUNDAY 9/20, while supplies last.
For children in grades K-4.
The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds inspired International Dot Day in 2009. The book is about a teacher who encourages a student named Vashti to "make her mark." Vashti makes a single dot on a piece of paper. This little dot was just the beginning of Vashti's creativity journey.
On September 15, 2009, a teacher shared The Dot with his classroom. Ever since, the day has become a global celebration. It is currently celebrated by nearly 16 million people in 181 countries.
