A shredding truck will be available from 9 am until the truck is full. Please limit materials to the capacity of two standard size copy paper boxes.
Shred-It is bringing a shredding truck for destruction and disposal of your documents. The staff will handle the documents for shredding while you watch. Each vehicle may bring material equivalent to the capacity of two standard size copy paper boxes (10” x 18” x 9”).
How long will the truck be there?
The Library has the truck booked from 9 am - 11 am, but the truck may fill sooner. The truck is only permitted to carry weight up to a specific limit.
Do I need identification? Is there a charge?
No! The Westlake Porter Public Library provides this service free of charge as a thank-you to our patrons and community members.
If it rains, will the event be canceled?
No. Shredding Day will happen RAIN or SHINE.
What can be shredded?
Paperwork, floppy disks and CDs that contain personal and confidential information.
Do I have to remove staples, paper clips, etc?
No, but please remove paperwork from binders and notebooks.
Is there a limit?
Yes. Material up to the equivalent capacity of 2 standard size paper boxes.
