Author and historian Dennis Keating joins us to discuss his new book "Cleveland and the Civil War."
Cuyahoga County sent over 9,000 men to fight in the Civil War, while nearly 1,700 never returned home. James Garfield, born outside of Cleveland, emerged from the Civil War later to become President of the U.S. The war helped to kickstart the economy of Cleveland and led to the city becoming an economic powerhouse into the 20th century.
Dennis Keating is a member and past president of the Cleveland Civil War Roundtable. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
