On November 4, 1979, a group of Iranian terrorists stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran, kidnapping more than 60 American diplomats & taking them as hostages. The crisis was given the name "The Iran Crisis--America Held Hostage" by ABC News.
President Carter decided to launch a risky military rescue mission known as Operation Eagle Claw \ Evening Light, which took place on the evening of April 24, 1980,
