Using advanced astrophotography techniques, the Great Lakes Astrophotography Society (GLAS) will capture breathtaking images of some of the most awe-inspiring celestial phenomena of the season. Attendees will have the opportunity to operate an astrophotography rig during the program.

In the event of rain, overcast skies or inclement weather, THIS INDOOR EVENT WILL PROCEED AS SCHEDULED. GLAS will remotely access their astrophotography rig in Spain to capture images. |
About GLAS
GLAS (Great Lakes Astrophotography Society) is a Northeast Ohio-based non-profit organization dedicated to generating excitement and enthusiasm for science and engineering by teaching the public how to explore the night sky using cutting edge astrophotography techniques.
About the Co-Founders
Sal Oriti is a mechanical engineer with 23 years of experience in aerospace power system research. He has a degree from Ohio Northern University in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to astrophotography, his other hobbies include RC aircraft, robotics, 3-D printing, and personal computing. He resides in Westlake with his family.
Christopher McDonnell owns and operates OpsShare, a data management, reporting, and analytics firm serving schools across Ohio. He has a bachelors in Urban Studies and a Masters in Public Administration from Cleveland State University. In addition to astrophotography, his other hobbies include Jiu Jitsu, guitar, eastern philosophy, hiking, and traveling. He resides in Westlake with his three children.
Westlake Porter Public Library is an independent public library serving the residents of the city of Westlake, western Cuyahoga County and eastern Lorain County. The library is located at 27333 Center Ridge Road in Westlake, Ohio. Anyone who lives, works, owns property, or goes to school in Ohio can register for a free library card.
