**This presentation originally took place on May 5, but due to a power outage was cut short. We are asking Steve to present his talk again in full.** In the summer of 1940 the German army thundered across France and within a matter of weeks the French and British forces were routed. German soldiers famously paraded around the Arc de Triomphe. Many myths surrounding the invasion have grown up over the years. Steve Pettyjohn joins us to put many of these myths to rest and describe how many of the German forces relied on foot and horsepower to move around and in many instances the French forces put up stiff resistance to Nazi aggression.
