Dan Zeiser, joins the World at War Forum to discuss the Spanish Civil War. Between 1936 and 1939 Spanish Republicans and Nationalists, led by Francisco Franco fought each other for the control of Spain. The battles between the Republicans and Nationalists quickly drew international attention as Fascist forces from Germany and Italy entered the fray on the Nationalists side and the Soviets sent weapons and advisors to aid the Republicans. This turned the war into a training ground and a prelude to the wider conflict during World War II.
