Grand Opening Celebration: Space Exploration Lab
Featuring the Frohring Deep Space Observatory

You're invited to the grand opening of the new Space Exploration Lab where you can explore and photograph the universe, right from Westlake Porter Public Library. All ages.
In partnership with the Great Lakes Astrophotography Society (GLAS), the Space Exploration Lab gives patrons the opportunity to remotely operate a powerful telescope located beneath the dark skies of Spain. During this special opening event, you'll discover how you can capture stunning images of distant galaxies, colorful nebulae, and other deep-space wonders from right here in at Westlake Porter Public Library.
Explore the Lab's new Mission Control area featuring interactive space exploration tools and software, including Kerbal Space Program, Stellarium Planetarium, NASA's Eyes on the Solar System, and more. Learn how to reserve telescope sessions, see the technology in action, and get a first look at this exciting new community resource.
