Gingerbread House Display

Submit a gingerbread house for the library lobby!

Show off your gingerbread house! Individuals or families are invited to decorate a gingerbread house to be displayed in our lobby display case during the month of December.

Drop Off:All gingerbread houses should be submitted to the Circulation Desk anytime during the week of November 23 up to Sunday, November 30, 2025. Please include preferred name, age, phone and address along with gingerbread house at drop off.

Westlake Porter Public Library reserves the right to refuse any entry deemed inappropriate for display. 

Guidelines: 
Size: Each gingerbread house must be on a base that does not exceed 12 inches in width, 12 inches in depth, and 18 inches in height. The base needs to be covered with foil or decorated to compliment the gingerbread scene. This size limitation is to ensure that the houses fit well within our designated display area.  
Materials: Gingerbread houses should be constructed primarily from edible materials. Traditional gingerbread, royal icing, candies, and edible decorations are encouraged. While non-edible support structures are acceptable for stability purposes, they should be discreet and not visible on the finished gingerbread house.

Pick Up:
All gingerbread houses should be picked up between January 2 and 5, 2026. Any gingerbread houses not picked up by these times will be discarded. Special arrangements could be made if necessary.
